Four Hogs Earn Phil Steele Preseason All-SEC Honors
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Led by Landon Jackson and Isaiah Sategna’s second-team selections, four Razorbacks earned preseason All-SEC honors from Phil Steele.
Jackson and Sategna earned preseason All-SEC praise at defensive end and punt returner, respectively, while Josh Braun garnered third-team recognition at offensive guard and Andrew Armstrong landed fourth-team accolades at wide receiver.
Jackson proved to be one of the nation’s most dominant pass rushers last season, tallying 44 total tackles, including 13.5 tackles for loss, with 6.5 sacks and one pass breakup. The Texarkana, Texas, product set career-highs in tackles (11), tackles for loss (3.5) and sacks (3.5) at Alabama (Oct. 14), recording his first career double-digit tackle game in the breakout performance and claiming SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week honors. Jackson, who anchored an Arkansas defense that ranked sixth in the SEC in tackles for loss and sacks, led the Hogs in tackles for loss (13.5) and sacks (6.5) to become the first Razorback defensive lineman since Jake Bequette in 2011 to earn first-team All-SEC honors.
Sategna earned Freshman All-SEC praise from the league’s coaches and third-team All-SEC honors from Phil Steele as a return specialist last season after playing in all 12 games with one start. The Fayetteville, Ark., native caught 15 passes for 129 yards and two touchdowns to go along with 23 kick returns for 500 yards and 15 punt returns for 180 yards and one touchdown. Sategna, who led the team with 837 all-purpose yards, finished with 680 total return yards in 2024, good for sixth-most in a single season by a Razorback in program history.
Braun earned second-team All-SEC honors from the Associated Press in 2024 after starting all 12 games in his first season at Arkansas. The transfer from Florida logged a career-high 790 offensive snaps and graded out at 70.7 according to Pro Football Focus with a team-high 79.3 grade in pass blocking. Braun allowed only two sacks and committed just three penalties all season.
Armstrong started all 12 games in his first season as a Razorback, leading the team in receptions (56), yards (764), receiving yards per game (63.7) and touchdowns (5) to earn fourth-team All-SEC honors from Phil Steele in 2024. The Dallas, Texas, product totaled 767 all-purpose yards, which were second-most on the squad. Armstrong led all receivers with 34 of his catches going for first downs and paced the Razorbacks in receiving yards in eight of 12 games.
