Hannah Camenzind Named SEC Freshman of the Week

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – For the second time this season, LHP/UTL Hannah Camenzind has been named SEC Freshman of the Week.

Camenzind last earned the weekly accolade on April 4.

The Valley, Neb., product played a crucial role in Arkansas’ sweep over UAB on April 14-16.

Making her fifth start and pitching her second complete game this season in game two vs. UAB Saturday, Camenzind (3-2) was efficient in the circle to earn the win and help the Razorbacks secure the series in a 11-1 (5) decision. Throwing 69 total pitches, Camenzind limited UAB to one unearned run on three hits and struck out one across 5.0 innings. Camenzind did not allow an extra-base hit and walked one batter. In addition, Camenzind anchored the Razorback offense while notching her first career multi-hit performance. The lefty finished 2-for-3 with a career high three RBI. Addtionally, Camenzind also blasted her first collegiate double against the Blazers.

Camenzind also tossed 2.0 innings in a midweek tilt at UCA on April 11. In Conway, Camenzind checked the Bears to one earned run on five hits and fanned two batters.

Camenzind and No. 12 Arkansas conclude a four-game homestand vs. Texas A&M-Commerce at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Bogle Park. The game will be available on SEC Network+. The Razorbacks then hit the road for a top-20 test at No. 20 Kentucky on April 21-23 in Lexington, Ky.
