Hogs Basketblog: Morgan State
9:09 p.m. — Clarke launches a 3 at the buzzer but to no avail as the Hogs drop it to the Bears 97-94 here at Bud Walton.
9:07 p.m. — Rotnei hits 2 clutch late threes to make it 95-94 Morgan State with 6.3 seconds to play, Holmes at the line for the Bears.
9:05 p.m. — Michael Washington hits a crucial pair of free throws to keep the Hogs in the game, Hogs down 91-88 with 21 seconds to play.
9:02 p.m. — Farmer fouls Davis and he goes to the line, sinks both, and gives the Bears a 3 point lead with 1 minute to play.
9:00 p.m. — Marshawn draws the foul and hits 1 of his 2 shots to make it a 1 point game at 85-84.
8:58 p.m. — Joe Davis pulls up and hits a long 2 for the Bears to give them an 85-83 lead as Pelphrey calls another quick timeout, 2:15 to play.
8:56 p.m. — Coach Pelphrey takes a timeout with 2:47 to play and the game locked up at 83 all.
8:53 p.m. — The runner goes for Welsh as Bud Walton begins to rumble with the clock ticking inside of 3 minutes, Arkansas hanging on by 2, 83-81.
8:51 p.m. — Stef Welsh goes to the line and sinks both shots to put the Razorbacks back on top 80-79.
8:49 p.m. — After a couple quick scores by the Bears, Washington again answers with another tough shot inside to bring the Hogs to within 1 of Morgan State, UA down 79-78.
8:47 p.m. — A beautiful hook shot by Michael Washington makes it 76-75 Razorbacks on top.
8:45 p.m. — Clarke again goes to the line for the Hogs and drops both shots off to stretch the Hogs lead to 3, 72-69.
8:43 p.m. — Rotnei sinks both freebies to put the Razorbacks back on top, 70-69.
8:40 p.m. — Hogs surrender the lead for the first time this half as we head into the 3rd media timeout of the 2nd, Morgan State now on top, 69-68.
8:37 p.m. — Boos echo throughout Bud Walton as Delvon Johnson is called for the foul and Thompson’s able to hit both of his shots for the Bearsto make it a 1 point game, Hogs up68-67.
8:34 p.m. — Morgan State again sends Julysses to the line where he’s able to hit on 1 of his free throws to make it a 3 point game at 68-65.
8:33 p.m. — Powell draws the foul but is unable to take advantage of the 1-and-1, Hogs still up 2, 65-63.
8:31 p.m. — Nobles draws the foul and hits on both shots to break the tie and give the Hogs a 2 point advantage, 65-63.
8:29 p.m. — Morgan State is defensively locking down on Rotnei, refusing to give him and the Hogs that 3-point shot they’re looking for, game’s knotted up at 63 all.
8:26 p.m. — Clarke draws the foul as we head into the 2nd media timeout of the 2nd half, Razorbacks stillholding on to a3 point edge, 63-60.
8:23 p.m. — Pelphrey coaches up Jemal Farmer ashe forces aBear turnover right in front of the Arkansas bench.
8:21 p.m. — Thanks to some nice shooting by Holmes, Morgan State hasbrought it to withina single possesionwith the Razorbacks, Hogs up 61-58.
8:18 p.m. — Media timeout on the floor here in Bud Walton, Razorbacks still up 59-51.
8:16 p.m. — Farmer draws the foul and hits both of his free throws to extend the Hogs lead to 8, 59-51.
8:15 p.m. — Washington hits the shot to get the Hogs up 6, 57-51.
8:13 p.m. –Coach Bozeman takes a timeout with 16:49 to play to discuss some sloppy ball-handling herein the 2nd that has cost the Bears a couple possesions.
8:10 p.m. — Morgan State taking advantage of some Hog fouls here early in the 2nd closing the gap to just 4, UA up 55-51.
8:07 p.m. — Washington grabs ahold of the balland won’t let go giving the Hogs the ball off of the jump-ball call on the opening possesion for the Bears.
8:03 p.m. — The Razorbacks take the floor here in the Basketball Palace of Mid-America for some 2nd half warm-ups, 2 minutes until 2nd half action tips.
7:52 p.m. — At the half here in Bud Walton, Hogs up 53-47 over Morgan State.
7:50 p.m. — Powell again puts it in to make him the Hogs leading scorer with 16.
7:49 p.m. — Washington throws down a dunk to make it 51-44 Razorbacks.
7:46 p.m. — Clarke hits both free throws to put the Hogs up by 12, 49-37.
7:43 p.m. — Bears turn it over heading up the court, giving Marshawn a monster dunk off the fast break as Bud Walton explodes, Hogs up 47-34.
7:42 p.m. — Rotnei finds a wide open Julysses Nobles who strokes the 3-point shot.
7:40 p.m. — Marshawn hits another to give him his 12th point of the game, Razorbacks up 40-34.
7:39 p.m. — Thomas works it inside and hits the shot over Washington to bring the Bears to within 4, 38-34.
7:37 p.m. — Powell continues his insidedomination over the Bears as he hits another shot to give the Razorbacks the 8 point advantage, 38-30.
7:35 p.m. — The freshman rattles in both of his freebies as Powell puts the Hogs up 36-28.
7:32 p.m. — Marshawn Powell makes his presence felt inside as he hits the turn-around shot to put the Hogs up 34-26.
7:29 p.m. — Razorbacks send Holmes to the line for Morgan State and he drains2 of his 3shots to cut the Razorbacks lead to 6, 30-24.
7:27 p.m. — Farmer gets airborne and getsa very nicetip-in over a host of Bear defenders, Razorbacks up 29-18.
7:25 p.m. — Welsh draws the foul and goes to the stripe for Hogs and hits 1 of ’em to put the Hogs on top 27-18.
7:22 p.m. — Media timeout on the floor as the Hogs and Bears have traded off back-to-back-to-back 3-pointers, Clarke now goes to the line for the and-1.
7:20 p.m. — Rotnei drops off his first 3 of the game as the crowd comes to life here at Bud Walton, Arkansas up 20-15.
7:17 p.m. — The game is very quickly turning into a highly physical one as the Hogs and Bears are scrapping for rebounds and trading fouls almost every possession, Arkansas up 15-13.
7:14 p.m. — Michael Washington again nails both free throws as Glenn Bryant checks into the game, Hogs up 14-9.
7:09 p.m. — Davis hits an open3 to put the Bears back up 9-7.
7:06 p.m. — Washington sinks a pair of freebies to give the Hogs an early lead, 7-6.
6:58 p.m. — Hogs take the court to a very warm welcome back home here at Bud Walton looking fired up and ready to play.
