Kim Selected To Palmer Cup

ORLANDO, Fla. – University of Arkansas senior Dylan Kim earned her second consecutive selection to The Arnold Palmer Cup Team it was announced today.

Kim, along with Razorbacks Maria Fassi and Alana Uriell, competed last year. This year’s event is hosted by The Alotian Club June 7-9.

Kim leads the sixth-ranked Razorbacks this season with a stroke average of 71.0 in five events. She has three third-place finishes and four top-9 places in five events.

Kim and the Razorbacks travel to the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate Friday-Sunday as the collegiate season continues. The Razorbacks host the 2019 NCAA Women’s and Men’s Golf Championships at Blessings Golf Club in May.

The United States is led by returners from last year’s victorious team Mariel Galdiano (UCLA), Dylan Kim (Arkansas), Emilia Migliaccio (Wake Forest), Kaitlyn Papp (Texas), and Chandler Phillips (Texas A&M). Phillips will become the first American to play in three Arnold Palmer Cups. Will Gordon also brings past Arnold Palmer Cup experience as he competed in the 2016 matches at Formby. Arnold Palmer Cup Rankings selections for the men include Peter Kuest (BYU), Alex Smalley (Duke), Gordon, Will Grimmer (Ohio State), Cole Hammer (Texas), and Brandon Wu (Stanford) while Galdiano, Kim, Jennifer Chang (Southern California), Malia Nam (Southern California), Haylee Harford (Furman), and Papp made the women’s rankings.

John Augenstein (Vanderbilt), Abbey Carlson (Vanderbilt), Hailee Cooper (Texas), Quade Cummins (Oklahoma), Austin Eckroat (Oklahoma State), Stephanie Lau (Northwestern), Migliaccio, Ann Parmerter (Dallas Baptist), Phillips, and Alex Scott (Grand Valley State) were Team USA committee selections.

Harford, Parmerter, and Scott are the first representative from their universities.

The International team is represented by 17 countries across six continents. Five players return from last summer’s matches, including Luis Gagne (LSU/Costa Rica), Jiwon Jeon (Alabama/Repulic of Korea), Jovan Reula (Auburn/South Africa), Patty Tavatanakit (UCLA/Thailand), and Albane Valenzuela (Stanford/Switzerland). International men’s ranking selections were Chun An Yu (Arizona State/Taiwan), Matthias Schmid (Louisville/Germany), Peng Pichaikool (Mississippi State/Thailand), Sandy Scott (Texas Tech/Scotland), Ivan Ramirez (Texas Tech/Colombia), and Kengo Aoshima (Wake Forest/Japan) and women’s ranking selections included Frida Kinhult (Florida State/Sweden), Tavatanakit, Hira Naveed (Pepperdine/Australia), Julie McCarthy (Auburn/Ireland), Valenzuela, and Jeon.

International committee selections were Ana Belac (Duke/Slovenia), Alex Del Rey (Arizona State/Spain), Gagne, Lois Kaye Go (South Carolina/Philippines), Leonie Harm (Houston/Germany), Takumi Kanaya (Tohoku Fukushi/Japan), Agathe Laisne (Texas/France), and Rebula.

Aoshima and Kanaya are the first players from Japan, Belac the first from Slovenia, Go from the Philippines, Naveed from Australia, and Ramirez from Colombia and South America. Additionally, Kanaya and Pichaikool are the first players from their universities.

A spot on the International side will be reserved for both a men’s and women’s golfer for The R&A Scholar Tournament champion, which will be held at St. Andrews April 1-2. The four coach’s picks will be announced May 3 on Golf Channel’s Morning Drive.
