Leavitt Cracks ESPN Top 10 Plays at #2

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Junior Chase Leavitt cracked into ESPN Sports Center’s Top 10 plays on Thursday night when his diving catch on the warning track was deemed the #2 play of the day.

In a tight game, Leavitt ended a potential game-changing drive into the right field corner with a diving catch onto the warning track for the third out of the inning and keep the Arkansas-Mississippi State baseball game close. On the play Leavitt was shaded toward the right-center field gap when the Bulldogs Jason Nappi hit a shot down the right-field line. Leavitt would get a great jump on the ball and dive into the corner to come up with the catch.

The play by Leavitt beat out highlights from the NBA and NHL playoffs and was only exceeded by Willie Harris’ diving catch in the New York Mets-Washington National’s game.

Arkansas and Mississippi State continue their three-game series on Friday night at 6:30 p.m. For more information regarding Razorback baseball or University of Arkansas athletics please visit www.hogwired.com.
