Poblete Earns SEC Accolades

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Arkansas defender Elizabeth Poblete was selected into the 12th annual Southeastern Conference Women’s Soccer Community Service Team on Thursday, as announced by the league.

Poblete, a sophomore, has spent time volunteering for several causes and participated in student-athlete leadership efforts at the University during her time as a Razorback.

The SEC sponsors community service teams for all 21 league-sponsored sports and highlights athletes from each member institution who gives back to their community in superior service efforts.

As a student sport administrator representative, Poblete was the voice for Razorback student-athletes to various athletic department sport administrators and athletic directors.

She also has spent countless hours volunteering in community service efforts that include assisting Baton Rogue, Louisiana, area flood victims, leading a swimming safety camp for underprivileged children, creating campaigns on campus to rally support for sexual assault awareness, encouraging positive reading habits to elementary-age children and representing the University of Arkansas Honors College in community engagement and recruiting events.

Also, as a trained hospice volunteer, Poblete provided end-of-life patients with active listening and companionship.
