Thorpe begins her 15th full year as the full-time assistant in the Razorback Media Relations office after coming to Arkansas as an intern in 1994-95.Since joining the staff, Thorpe has worked primarily with volleyball, women’s golf, softball and gymnastics while assisting with all other sports at Arkansas.
A member of CoSIDA since 1992, Thorpe worked the 1994 Volleyball Final Four in Austin, Texas, the 1994 NCAA Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championship in Fayetteville, Ark., and several SEC events. Her publications have earned regional and national recognition from CoSIDA and the 1996 edition of the Arkansas Volleyball Guide earned the Viggo D. Nelson Collegiate Media Guide Award for best in the nation from USA Volleyball. The 1997 guide earned Most Creative Cover honors.
A 1991 honors mass communications/public relations graduate of Mankato State University, Thorpe earned her master’s in athletic administration at MSU in 1994.
