Volley Hogs Head to College Station Wednesday

The Razorbacks hit the road for their last midweek match on Wednesday for a showdown with Texas A&M in College Station.

After being swept twice at No. 7 Kentucky over the weekend, the Aggies are 12-12 overall and 5-9 in conference. The Hogs hosted No. 22 Florida at Barnhill Arena, and despite forcing an extra set in Saturday’s series finale, Arkansas went 0-2 against the Gators to move to 17-8 overall and 8-6 in the SEC.

The two teams last met over a year ago for a two-match series at Barnhill Arena. Arkansas took down then-No. 14 Texas A&M in both for what would be the team’s biggest wins of the year by season’s end. Arkansas trails 6-9 in the all-time series, and the Hogs have not won in College Station since 2017.

Statistically, Arkansas leads A&M in all categories among SEC competitors except for digs. The Aggies are registering a second-best 16.40 digs per set to the Hogs’ fourth-best 14.98. Graduate transfer libero Macy Carrabine is currently fourth in the SEC in digs with 4.15 per set.

Wednesday’s 7 p.m. match will be nationally televised on SEC Network with live streaming also available. Texas A&M will provide live stats.

Last Time Out

The No. 22 Gators came to town last weekend and the Razorbacks were seeking their first win over Florida since 2015. The Gators got the sweep in Friday’s series opener but the Hogs
rallied on Saturday. Arkansas had a 2-1 match advantage after three sets, but Florida took the fourth to even it up. The Hogs hung in as long they could and even pushed the fifth set to an
extra point, but the Gators came away with the 16-14 victory, took the match 3-2 and swept the series.
