Volleyball Hosts Auburn in Homecoming Matchup

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas volleyball returns to Barnhill Arena for seven of its final 10 matches of the regular season starting with this weekend’s home slate which begins Friday against Auburn. First serve of the SEC matchup is scheduled for 7 p.m. (CT). The Razorbacks have won six of eight home matches this season while playing in front of three top-10 attendance figures in program history.

Individual match tickets are $5 at the Barnhill Arena ticket window while UA students and fans 17 years and younger receive free admission. Doors open one hour prior to first serve. Among Friday’s fan promotions, the Razorbacks will host a costume contest and trick-or-treat event.

• Costume Contest – top three costumes will be selected to participate in halftime contest between sets two & three; winner of the student division takes home a Fitbit Charge HR and winner of the 12-and-under division win four (4) tickets to Arkansas-UT Martin football game
• Free Food Friday – first 200 students in attendance wearing a costume receive a voucher for free hot dog, popcorn and drink
• Razorback Foundation Appreciation – all Razorback Foundation members receive complimentary admission with valid RF ID card and the first 50 members receive a voucher for free hot dog, popcorn and drink
• Trick or Treat – children in attendance can trick or treat with the Razorbacks immediately following the match

Arkansas (13-7, 3-5 SEC) has won 34 of 42 matches in the all-time series with Auburn including a 16-3 record in matches played in Fayetteville. Dating back to the 2011 season, the Razorbacks have won five of seven against Auburn (12-8/4-4 SEC) including a straight-set road win last season. Chanell Clark-Bibbs had nine kills with a .467 hitting percentage and six total blocks in that match.

Through the first 20 matches of its season, Arkansas’ offense ranks fourth in the SEC and 42nd in the country with its .254 hitting percentage. The Razorbacks have tallied a .270 or higher offensive efficiency in 12 of 20 matches this year including three instances against conference opponents.

Breana Jones enters the weekend as the SEC leader in hitting percentage after registering a career-high 15 kills with a .538 figure in the Razorbacks’ last outing at South Carolina. The Peachtree City, Ga., native is currently hitting .442 this season and has had seven or more kills in seven matches. She is joined atop the conference stat rankings by Pilar Victoria who is first in the conference with 4.71 kills per set and 5.25 points per set; she is eighth in the NCAA in both categories.

Clark-Bibbs is a top-15 performer in three SEC statistical categories at sixth in hitting percentage (.388), sixth in blocks per set (1.14) and 15th in points per set (3.68). Her hitting percentage also ranks 35th in the NCAA. In running the Razorbacks’ offense, two-time SEC Setter of the Week Adrien Wohlschlaeger is fourth in the conference and 49th in the NCAA with 10.69 assists per set.

The conference matchup between Arkansas and Auburn will be streamed live on SEC Network+ and be available through the WatchESPN app. The Razorbacks just completed a stretch that featured nine of 11 matches away from Barnhill Arena, including six of eight against SEC opposition.
