FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Hosting the Tyson Invitational at the Randal Tyson Track Center, the No. 1 Arkansas women’s track and field team will keep its sprinters and jumpers on its home turf while its distance crew will take on the UW Husky Classic in Seattle, Wash. Both meets will take place on Feb. 12-13.

USTFCCCA WEEK THREE RANKINGS

Never wavering, Arkansas has remained the No. 1 team in the nation since the preseason rankings were released in early January. The Tyson Invitational will feature 13 nationally ranked programs with six inside the NCAA top 10. In addition to Arkansas, No. 4 Florida, No. 5 Texas, No. 6 Kansas State, No. 7 Southern California and No. 9 N.C. State will travel to Tyson.

ALL EYES ON…

Ranked in the NCAA top five in two events (200m and 400m), Taylor Ellis-Watson will attempt to continue her pursuit of excellence in the sprints this weekend. The senior out of Philadelphia is the top-ranked 400-meter performer in the SEC.

A two-time All-American last year, Taliyah Brooks has since improved in three out of five pentathlon events (800m, 60mH and long jump) so far this season. Brooks’ score of 4,457 secured at the Razorback Invitational is the second best pentathlon performance in Arkansas history.

Sophomore Payton Stumbaugh is one of three Razorbacks nationally ranked in more than one event (Brooks: pentathlon, 60mH and Ellis-Watson: 200m and 400m). Flip flopping with fellow sophomore Brooks, Stumbaugh is the highest ranked Razorback in the 60-meter hurdles with her time of 8.16. The Oklahoma transfer also made the NCAA top-10 performance list in the pentathlon following a strong event debut at the Razorback Invitational.

2015 NCAA DMR champion Jessica Kamilos leads the SEC in the mile with her time of 4:39.70. Following in Kamilos’ footsteps, underclassman Devin Clark is a rising star in the middle distance and distance events. Racing to two personal bests during the last two weekends, Clark ranks fifth in the 3K and sixth in the mile among SEC student-athletes.

Junior Regan Ward owns the No. 3 spot in the SEC at 3,000 meters with her time of 9:27.05.

Arkansas now has three vaulters inside the NCAA top-25 with the emergence of senior Megan Zimlich. Zimlich had a solid showing at last weekend’s Charlie Thomas Invitational clearing a personal best height of 4.19m/13-9 to win the event. Zimlich currently has the 24th best performance in the pole vault nationally this season while Lexi and Tori Weeks are holding strong inside the top five.
